Social and Relationship Discontinuity, even AbandonmentPeople who are societally devalued and cast into negative roles will tend to lose continuity with friends, acquaintances and family. This is especially dangerous as it is often just these people who have the resources, will and ability to 'rescue' such devalued people from further wounding. If one is cast into an institution, or cast out of town, or just socially cast aside, then one is liable to lose contact with such important people and enter into a system where there is nothing but discontinuous and fleeting relationships.
